Best Teaching and Learning Approaches through the Eyes of Thai EFL Preservice Teachers

The best teaching and learning approaches have been controversial since the origins of language learning. This study aims to explore Thai EFL preservice teachers’ perceptions towards through written test. A qualitative research design purposive sampling were employed collect data from 46 participants who completed teacher training for at least one semester. Research ethics obtained prior collection. instrument was a 150-word test participants. results show that there 17 features desired by teachers, which can be put into four aspects: lesson, classroom environment, students. In detail, lessons should learned in group setting using meaningful, real-life situations, simplified language, communication practice, thinking practices. environment active, fun, enjoyable, allowing freely expressing ideas opinions peer-supported Teachers scaffold, increase motivation, provide mental support Finally, students must able manage their own emotions, sense control over learning, become autonomous learners. mentioned are likely comply with Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). reasons weighed on this approach probably due ready-to-use materials used different communicative exciting motivating active activities, technology-supported leading idealized pedagogical implementation.
